Antigua Guatemala
March, 16th 2019 two of our closest friends got married in the historic city of Antigua Guatemala.
The beautiful Pensativo Hotel was more than generous to host EVERYONE and made sure to have the bar open every morning at 9am…
The crew hit the cobble stone streets to check out the Spanish influenced architecture & surrounding volcano views with our Gallo always in hand…
The Arco de Santa Catalina is the most distinguishable landmark in Antigua. It was originally built to let nuns at the school pass from one building to the other without having to go out on the street.
Antigua has amazing character, from the textures, bright colors, old architecture, sunshine, fruit stands and volcanoes. We will definitely be back.
You could spend all day walking down different streets and always get an amazing view of one of the three surrounding volcanos.
Back to the hotel for some rooftop drinking.
Quick pool party
Forms of transportation we took in Antigua included: Golf Carts, Chicken Bus & Tuk Tuk.
The bride set up 10am yoga on the rooftop of the hotel. One thing to note, yoga on the equator is the equivalent of hot yoga in a studio at 127º
Ok, another pool party…
More cobble stone and culture... and of course we found more beer…
Good beer, with a great view. Now… the Wedding day! Obviously we didn’t get a lot of photos... but this was hands down the most breathtaking wedding anyone has ever seen.
Our Last day in Antigua! Poor Brogen had blistered, “3rd degree burns”, on her feet and needed the sweet lady from the hotel to help her survive the day…and alcohol.
After a long strenuous search… we found Olivia.
Now more beer…
Oh and Brogen found some mangos that where apparently pretty spicy?
So we hurried to another bar to grab a drink…
We found Lauren’s chocolate chip muffins though.
…and we all bought a mask.
The group winded down the day, by drinking in the square before heading to one last bar for sunset.
Such an epic celebration of love. Congrats Brogen & David, we love you.
Antigua you are an absolute gem.
Adios!
