Big Sur
The day after Christmas, we took a drive up the coast… and kept going. Since moving to California, we have spent every Christmas at home back in Florida. This year we did things a little different with just the 3 of us.
One of the first signs you’re getting close to that long stretch of unique Big Sur coast line is Elephant Seal beach.
We made it to the heart of Big Sur just in time for some incredible skies from the early Winter sunset.
They built the Bixby bridge in 1931…. 1931!
Found some nice quiet beaches to have some beers and lunch.. one of many to chose from.
A whole lot of dudes fishing for Halibut, catching Sand Perch.
We stayed in the little beach town of Carmel-by-the-sea. Chilly mornings brought us some monster winter swell. Lot of guys dropping in these 8-12ft barrels on this beautiful beach break.
Carmel loves surfing, fishing… and dogs. Carmel loves their dogs.
The famous “17 Mile Drive” through Pebble Beach.
I couldn't imagine trying to drive a golf ball in this wind onto these fairways and greens…
This lone Monterey Cyprus tree is the symbol and ultimately the logo of Pebble beach, and has been called one of the most photographed trees in North America.
Speaking of Monterey… We had to go visit the original Fishersman’s Wharf while we were this far north… and its just as touristy as I remember…
One more Carmel sunset before we head back down the coast to our next stop… wine.
Very tired boy from all that exploring.
Just one more drive south. It never gets old…
From coastal views, to mountain vineyards. Time to drink some of Cali’s BEST wine… in Paso Robles.
Chillin on a dirt road…
These mountain sunsets are pretty unique to..
New Day. New Winery.
Alta Colina
Have to get some vineyard pics
…and family pics
Awesome way to end our Christmas break. Good weather, great wine and plenty of relaxing to end this insane year of 2020.
Heres to 2021!
